Abstractions

“Dealing with the stress ratio between color and form” –  This repeatedly used formulation to categorize works of fine arts would not be, by any means, profound enough to characterize the artwork of Christoph Palaschke. There is no “controversy “ between color and form as such, but rather a symbiotic connection of poetry and music made accessible by worlds of thoughts  which evolved into abstract elements.

The subjective, highly differentiated color and form language is carried by the desire to project his own momentary moods on canvas which are reflected through the eye and transferred to the perceptual centre of the astounded beholder. So it is not a mere matter of a simple perceptual process but rather an opportunity enabling the beholders to convey their personal world of thoughts to Palaschke’s works. Thereby, two different worlds of experience become entwined, meaning that the pictures are not only seen but rather experienced.

It is exactly this “experiencing” which the artist wishes to effect when trying to ignite the beholders zest for life by symbiotically combining intense colors and a dynamic form language. The grey fog of every-day-life is brightened up and the pictures do not only suggest but give absolute assurance that no matter how grey his fog may be, anybody is awaited by a colorful world, if only they are prepared to become involved in it.
